How to flash XBOX 360 Hitachi drive

Here is a small tutorial for the one who wants to flash the XBOX 360 Hitachi drive and take the back-ups of original games. So, first start with the things that are required:

1. Xbox 360 with Hitachi drive (obviously)
2. SLAX Linux disk
3. CD/DVD Burner

Disconnect the cables to separate your XBOX 360 motherboard from your dvd drive. Insert the SLAX Linux disk into your CD/DVD drive and shutdown your computer. Now reconnect the cables from your computer to your XBOX 360 drive and restart your computer. Set your bios to boot from CD first and boot the Slax CD. When you get to the "login" prompt reset your PC (with the reset button) but leave the Xbox360 turned on. Remove the CD and load your computer with Windows.

Flashing XBOX 360 Hitachi drive

1. Open XBOX 360 Firmware Toolbox

2. Go to Tools -> Direct Drive Dump

3. Select your Hitachi drive

4. Press 'RAW Dump Firmware As' and save it as the bin file

5. The program will dump the firmware automatically and it should ask you it you want to open it, choose 'Yes'

6. Now go to Tools -> Smart Hack Patcher (a warning message may appear but just ignore it by clicking on OK)

7. Just save the output file with .bin file format

8. Now click on "Generate File" button. On completion this should ask you if you want to open it, click on "Yes".

9. Now go to Tools -> Direct Drive Flash -> Differential Flash Patch

10. Select your drive from the list and press "Read Drive and Detect Differences" button

11. Select 'Internal Flasher' and press "Start Flashing" button

12. On completion, restart your console.
