    Create an enterprise server

You want to invest in a server for your business? We need to ask the right questions. What types of servers exist? Which to choose according to your business and your needs related to this activity? What utilities and benefits for what costs?

Why (not) a server in your company?

Key features and benefits of a server company:

    - Regularly back up all your files
Can limit the risk of lost files, which means lost time and money for your business. Evite also necessary and regular backup files on another medium which aimed to limit the risk of loss

    - Secure data, including the establishment of a mechanism for user identification (ID and password)

    - Centralizing files of all your employees / collaborators and make it accessible to everyone you want, whether or not the company (employees or customers, inside or outside your premises). You can create different levels of access: read-only or the possibility of amending the documents.

Needless to invest in an enterprise server if your company has fewer than 5 people. Online tools exist for the lack of functionality of a server. A simple file sharing or printing may suffice.

Remember that there is no network identical in the sense that there is no type of SMEs. Needs differ depending on the extent and nature of your business. For this reason a priori you need to hire a professional if you want to install a server in your company.

The capabilities of your server must be exactly tailored to your needs, without taking into account the cost. Because if the capacity of the server of your company are too low, access to the server and navigation will be slow. And the costs of productivity suffers.

What type of connection to the server?

Once your server, you have to define what type of connection will link the different positions of your employees to the server:

    Use a professional?

Many firms offer SMEs the installation of enterprise servers. Some of the most important, knowing you can simply use a computer near you.

    • Iweb
    • Dell
    • Microsoft
    • Nec
    • IBM
    • Open Web

A server is an important investment: charging around € 5000 for a company of about 10 people, a file server, messaging, web. But it may be necessary to professionalize and secure your business. Fill yourself with a professional, compare different offers and make the right choice according to your needs.
