bachelor of Business Administration, or BBA, is a three-year fulltime course that is designed to give rise to future professionals, rather than mere ‘degree holders’. This course keeps in mind the needs of the industry where the students would ultimately find employment, and, therefore, has a completely different approach to learning.

A professional course: BBA goes beyond bookish knowledge. Instead, it sharpens your managerial skills through presentations, case studies, industry visits, guest lectures by professionals, etc. that help you deal with real-life situations better.
Best colleges, better prospects: There are quite a few reputed BBA colleges in Delhi & NCR with a total intake of around 1500 seats. You can even apply to Symbiosis (Pune). Passing out from one of these institutes will create a foundation for pursuing a PG program — an MBA.
A structured syllabus: Almost 70% of the subjects taught in the BBA course, be it areas of management like marketing, finance, systems or human resource management, is similar to that in the MBA program. Theoretical concepts learnt in the classroom are supported by practical experience in the form of projects, presentations, industrial visits and summer placements, thereby making the course a complete learning experience.
An edge over other undergraduate courses: The limited number of seats in the BBA colleges means that only the best students get selected. They are then trained by some of the finest faculty members. Add to this, the guest lectures delivered by industry experts, and you know that BBA graduates have a definite edge over others.

Bachelor's degree programmes in business administration/ business studies/ management studies are called by various names by the different universities. Hence, you are likely to come across BBA, BBS, BMS courses, all of which are more or less the same thing.

Normally, there is an objective-type entrance test for admission to BBA/ BBS/ BMS courses which evaluates English language, quantitative aptitude and reasoning skills. However, the basic focus would be to seek admission into BBA BBS/ BMS courses offered by a government recognized university. There is really no ranking or assessment of colleges for such programmes, but every university would have its share of prominent colleges which attract the cream of students, and such colleges are usually rated among the best.

All specialisation or fields of management can be good, but when you choose a specialisation it should be-in-the context of your-abilities and personality

The obvious choice after BBA is opting for postgraduation — an MBA. Having a prior knowledge of different aspects of management, BBA graduates often find it easier to crack MBA entrance exams, as compared to commerce graduates. After completing your BBA program, you also have the option of joining as a Management Trainee/Executive Trainee in any of the following sectors:

Banking, Consultancy, Finance, e.g.: HDFC, Citibank, HSBC, etc.
FMCG and Consumer Durable companies, e.g.: HLL, P&G, Marico, etc.
IT companies, e.g.: Infosys, Wipro, Satyam, Microsoft, Compaq, etc.
Advertising agencies, e.g.: HTA, Lintas, Mudra, O & M, Leo Burnett, etc.
