hi all friends ,
I would like to know about GRE,as i am interested to do MS.I am about to finish my graduation this year so please can any one help me to guide how can i apply for Gre .also if any have any tips or experience they welcome .thank you. .

• choose whether you want to apply for the written test or the computer-based test. Computer tests are offered more frequently, but may not be available in certain areas.
  
• Choose the specific test format, which may be the general test or a subject, such as psychology, test.
  
• Contact the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to begin the registration process (see Resources below).
  
• Select a testing site. If you live in a rural area or small town, you may need to travel a considerable distance to the testing location.
  
• Enter your name on the registration form exactly as it appears on a government-issued identification card that bears your name in English. Alternatively, enter it the way it appears on your college ID.
  
• Make an appointment for your test. Make this appointment carefully as you will only be able to cancel or reschedule 10 days prior to the exam date.

Not all graduate schools treat the GRE the same. While a strong score is a requirement in some programs.considering the GRE a formality during the application process if quite headache. collect the various points of the schools to which you plan to apply.GRE testing is available throughout the year at sites all over the world.

Once you apply to take the GRE, plan to arrive at the testing site at least 30 minutes in advance. so you can complete the necessary paperwork and avoid feeling nervous .

The GRE takes about 2 1/2 hours to complete, so repair your self before to take the test.

For some graduate programs, the basic GRE will not be enough. Some academic areas, such as psychology, require a subject test in addition to the general test.

Verbal Reasoning Section

1.Measures the ability to
o understand the meanings of words, sentences, and entire texts; understand relationships among words and among concepts
o select important points; distinguish major from minor or irrelevant points; summarize text; understand the structure of a text
o analyze and draw conclusions from discourse; reason from incomplete data; identify author’s/speaker’s assumptions and/or perspective; understand multiple levels of meaning (such as literal, figurative, text’s intent, etc.)


2 . mphasis on skills related to graduate work, such as complex reasoning
o increased emphasis on inferential reasoning
o increased emphasis on verbal reasoning in context
o increased number of reading comprehension questions based on a greater variety of reading passages
o reduced emphasis on vocabulary out of context (no Antonyms or Analogies)


3. Inclusion of new question formats other than traditional multiple choice (e.g., highlighting a sentence in a passage that serves the function described in the question)
