    First Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) Exam

    Registration is now open for the first Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) exam. The exam will be administered in English on 13 December 2008 and is available at more than 230 sites internationally.

    The final date to register for the first CGEIT exam is 24 September 2008.

    Candidates can register at www.isaca.org/cgeit.

    More information on CGEIT certification

    Offered by ISACA, a nonprofit association serving more than 86,000 IT governance, security and assurance professionals, the CGEIT certification program recognizes those who have the professional knowledge, personal skills and business experience to maximize IT's contribution to an enterprise's success, and manage and mitigate risks related to IT.

    The certification helps:
    • Support the growing business demands related to IT governance

    • Increase the awareness and importance of IT governance good practices and issues

    • Define the roles and responsibilities of the professionals performing IT governance work


    The certification process has been specifically developed for professionals who have a management, advisory or assurance role relating to the governance of IT.

    To earn the CGEIT credential, applicants are required to:
    1. Pass the CGEIT exam

    2. Provide evidence of appropriate IT governance work experience as defined by the CGEIT job practice

    3. Agree to adhere to the ISACA Code of Professional Ethics

    4. Agree to comply with the CGEIT Continuing Professional Education Policy

    More than 500 highly experienced professionals have already obtained the CGEIT designation under the grandfathering provision, available until 31 October 2008. The CGEIT grandfathering application can be accessed at www.isaca.org/cgeitgfapp.
