    Windows 7 system properties editing

Hello, I am running Windows 7 on my computer. And when we go to the Control Panel and then into the System Properties, then we can see the basic information about our computer. Below that we can see our Windows Edition and email address as well. I am searching for a way to edit this information? Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks

You can try to customize the manufacturer support information in your Windows 7. Just right click on Computer and then go to Properties to get into the System Properties options. After that for editing the info in the same area you need to open registry editor and go to this key - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation. You can now change the different fields such as Manufacturer, Logo, SupportURL, etc and put any values you want into them. After that make a bitmap file which can be found in the Logo key here - C:\Windows\System32\oemlogo.bmp.

You will need to download ResHacker by searching it from google. After that open it and run the program. Now open it and then choose File and then open basebrd.dll.mui file that you can find in the "en-US" folder which is located in C:\Windows\Branding\Basebrd\en-US. Now click the + symbol to expand the String Table folder and then click + again to expand the "1" folder. Now click on "1033" and edit the text that you want but done remove the quotation marks. After editing the text click on the Compile Script at the top and then select File and then Save as and go to the same location of the original basebrd.dll.mui file and overwrite this original file.

There is also a tool called Windows Info box Editable 2 that you can download from the devianart website. This tool can be used to edit the info in the box. All you have to do is just press Enter and then type the text that you want to be modified. Otherwise the manual procedure that is given above also does the job well.
