Getting rid of Windows version number from desktop in Windows 8

I am using a Windows 8 RTM edition on my desktop. Installed it couple of months ago. Everything is working great but i have a problem with the build version watermark that use to appear at the bottom right corner of the display. It disappears automatically and appears back again on the screen, i dont know how and why.

Is there any way to permanently get rid of this Windows version watermark? Also can anyone please tell me why does it appears even if it is gone for once? Helps appreciated.

This can be removed easily by running two simple commands in command prompt. First of all run Command Prompt as an Administrator (type CMD on start screen to search). Now run the following two commands one by one followed by Enter:

    1. bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
    2. bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING OFF

Once done, restart the computer and see if the watermarks still appear. Hopefully it should be gone by now.

Instead of playing with Group Policy or CMD commands, there is a better way to get rid of those Water marks in windows 8. You can use a third party tool called as "WCP Watermark Editor" It is a easy to use software that removes all kind of watermarks from your system in one click.

You can download WCP Watermark Editor from here.
