How to make custom icons in Windows 7

Hello friends, I have seen many of people have made their desktop icons of their own, when I am trying to do from windows then I am not able to make as good and better like they have done. So is there some any other method which is need to be done and it is possible to have what style icon which I like to have it. Please help me. Thank you.

I think that if you search for it then you will be getting it and also change which ever icons you like to.
