Most of my applications have bold font! Help!

Hey guys, I’ve been wanting to install a new theme for my firefox browser. On account of which I chose one, downloaded and installed. After which I decided to clean my PC up. In the course of that, a peculiar issue caught my attentions

Most of the application I had, started showing their text in bold.
Surprisingly, the dialog boxes, desktop boxes etc did not have any issue, they were all fine.

Let me know if you can figure out something

Hey TA Guy, stop panicking. I’ve been through the same a few days back. I installed IE9 and suddenly realized all my applications have become bold.

I almost fainted [] but before that I got the idea of system restore.
And there it worked me. So buddy, you have the solution now, SYSTEM RESTORE.

Tried that! The problem was that I'm not sure if the restore point was before the problem occurred.

I had created the back up after uninstalling some unwanted programs.

I don’t have any other restore point. That won’t work for me.

I found some solution for you. I hope it works.

    Follow the followingsteps.
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Copy and Paste the code below into Notepad.

    Code:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts]
    "Segoe UI (TrueType)"=""
    "Segoe UI Bold (TrueType)"=""
    "Segoe UI Italic (TrueType)"=""
    "Segoe UI Bold Italic (TrueType)"=""
    "Segoe UI Semibold (TrueType)"=""
    "Segoe UI Light (TrueType)"=""
    "Segoe UI Symbol (TrueType)"=""
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes]
    "Segoe UI"="Tahoma"

    3. In Notepad, click on File (Menu bar) and Save As. (see screenshot below)
    4. Type in a name you would like with a .reg file extension (ex: Impact-Fonts.reg), then click on the Save button. (see screenshot below)
    5. Right click the created .reg file and click on Merge.
    6. Click on Yes, Yes, and OK when prompted.
    7. Log off and log on, or restart the computer to apply changes.

I strongly feel the issue is with your font folder.
    Perform the following test, first:

Go to %system%windows/Fonts/Arial.....double click on Arial - there should be 9 Arial fonts inside.

If there are any less, that might be your problem.
And if you find that as an issue, just download all default fonts and install in your system. This should clear your issue.
