How to fix Black wallpaper on Windows 7?

well I am using Windows 7 on my computer. I don’t why but the desktop back ground is turning to black. I am not able to change the same by any mean. My prime suspect is virus attack. But still if you are having any speculation to resolve the issue then let me know as early as possible. Thanks a lot in advance.

I am suggesting following registry solution to fix the matter of yours.
You should launch registry editor .

Now navigate for below mentioned registry key.

    Code:
    HKCU/Control Panel/ Desktop/wallpaper
Here you have to set value for %windir%\web\wallpaper\windows\img0.jpg

    Now restart system.

You should backup the registry key before doing anything so that if you get any issue you can restore the keys.

Let me know whether above mentioned solution is working or not.

If above mentioned solution does not work for you than you should try with below mentioned steps.
    1. Click on Start button and launch Control Panel.
    2. See that you are getting View by: Category at the top.
    3. From Control Panel you have to go for Ease of Access.
    4. Now you have to click on Ease of Access Center and click on Make the computer easier to see..
    5. You have to uncheck Remove all Background Images checkbox.
    6. Finally click on Apply and Click on Ok.

Another solution which I wanted to tell you that you can try to resolve the issue.
    • Browse for below mentioned location.
    • %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\
    • You have to search for TranscodedWallpaper.jpg and right click on the same and Click on Rename.
    • You should rename to TranscodedWallpaper.old and click on yes when it is prompting.
    • Now you have to double click on slideshow.ini. select all the content of slideshow.ini and Delete it and save the file.
    • Close the file as well as Windows Explorer.
    • Finally look for the desired image and try to set as background image.

I am suspecting that corrupted files on the system might be root cause. So you should run SFC/SCANNOW command on your computer. once it’s get completed you should restart the system and let me know about the result.
