    VNC graphical environment configuration

    Hello,
I installed VNC SERVER 3.3.1 on Debian kernel 2.4.23 but I can not tell it to launch a wmaker. When I type vncserver: I get this line
    Code:
Starting applications specified in / etc/X11/Xsession
Throughout the explanation it says that we need to get:
    Code:
Starting applications specified in $ HOME / .vnc / xstartup
I look and the file $ HOME / .vnc / xstartup is not home. I try to created but it has nothing changed. So, can any one tell me about the VNC graphical environment configuration. It would be great. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
Localhost session Xn 1 (you're probably also have the session 0), but it seems that in the command line, vncserveur you defined has no X session the zero being taken by the session certainly had local X terminal, vnc to open an X session on virtual terminal 1
    therefore
    Code:
    export DISPLAY = localhost: 1
to send anything in it, first as a windowmanager wmaker. I hope this will help you and you will find a way out.

    Hello,
Even i do have a similar kind of a problem. How can I do so to properly configure my VNC server to use the file $ HOME / .vnc / xstartup? Like that I can tell him to start wmaker. Or if I need to change Quesques in / etc/X11/Xsession that throws me wmaker AC? Anyway thank you for your answer. Or else if you have any other alternative for this then please let me know.

    Hello,
No I install with the command apt-get install vncserver. There would not be a configuration file? Or is it maybe just that I changed them because I saw that version of 3.3.7 exists? If you think this is a good solution, how to properly and completely remove my current version? For apt-get remove leaves the config file right? If you have any other solution for this then I am the interested one here. Thanks in advance.

    Re: VNC graphical environment configuration

    Hello,
Otherwise I find the configuration file is vnc / Etc / vnc.conf. I have roughly the set as I wanted but I still can not ask him to run Windows maker!
I EDTI file xstartup as below:
    Code:
    # / Bin / sh
    wmaker &
Looking in the file $ HOME / .vnc / server: 1.log jai find something odd:
/ Usr / bin / WindowMaker fatal error: could not open display "Server: 1
Yet when I type the command which I spoke to you before (export DISPLAY ...) it works. So, if you need then you can try the following. If you still have errors with it then please post back.

    Hello,
I think you can edit your file at xstartup
Here is the code for the same
    Code:
    # / Bin / sh
    export DISPLAY = 127.0.0.1
    wmaker &
I think this should work fine. It should do well against a attention vncserver starts up on the dispay 1. Just try this and see if this works. i think this should.
