TweakUI for XP is the safest way. Open TweakUI, expand "Explorer", highlight "Shortcut", and you will see the options.Using TweakUI to change the shortcut arrow icon is more safer. Plus, it offers another special icon Light Arrow (icon within TweakUI.exe). This gives the user an extra option to set the shortcut arrows to Light Arrow style, without completely removing the arrow.

Follow the step below in the Windows XP:
    1]Go to Start button
2] Choose Help and Support option
3] Check for the option undo the changes to your computer with system restore.
4] Now it will show Calender and then in that pick a date.
5] You can also schedule dates when the computer will save all the settings if you like.
    Hope your problem gets fix.
