Well friend you also can make your Pen drive work as RAM.ck which wil relax your computer.the trick is that you can use your pen drive as memory. You just need to follow this steps:-

    1. Connect your pen drive to your pc
[pen drive should be atleast 1 gb or if you having 4 gb then its better]

    2. Allow pc what it is supposed to do,let system to detect pen drive.

    3. After your pc finished with its detection work, you have to do some little work

    4. Right click on My Computer and select the properties

    5. Go to advanced and then performance setting then advanced then change.

    6. Select pen drive and click on custom size
" Check the value of space available "

    7. Enter the same in the Initial and the Max columns
" You just used the memory of the PenDrive as a Virtual Memory "

Thats it,, Now restart your pc and enjoy your fast and super system

that does not use the pen drive as RAM, as RAM and virtual memory is used differently.

Virtual memory is there to take the load whenever RAM is nearly full, but it works differently from RAM.

RAM works as a buffer/cache between different components in the PC. Virtual memory is a file (Windows pagefile) or a partition (Linux swap partition) on your hard drive. Whenever the computer runs out of RAM, it starts "swapping" between RAM and the pagefile/swap partition, which causes loss in performance due to the hard drive being slower than RAM.

The Method Steinbach describes is actually quite unsafe and can cause loss of data, because as soon you pull out the USB drive, all data in the pagefile on the pen drive will be lost.

Orlando: RAM booster does nothing but free up RAM, it doesn't speed it up. Only faster RAM modules or overclocking does.

Larry Ward: Your pal probably used the ReadyBoost feature in Vista, which can make a pen drive act as cache. This boosts performance a bit, but the best way to get more performance will always be to add more RAM to your system.

Well, you will need to just reverse the method given on the 2nd post and thus your pen drive will start to work in the similar manner that it used to work before.
