Is there a photo editing software for linux to make the front (so to speak) to Photoshop?
And although not in this section, a software for editing video and audio.
Specifically use Ubuntu.

The Gimp is as powerful as Photoshop, and it is working on both Windows and Linux.
I have read that The Gimp is good but even so Photoshop is still much better. Although I will have to try to see if The Gimp is what I need. Thank you.
I do not know what you've tried with Photoshop and without using Gimp you think Photoshop is much better, no?
GIMP can take the appearance of this http://www.ubuntugeek.com/howto-inst...ntu-hardy.html
No, I have not tested and do not know if it will be better or worse, only I said that I have read opinions of people who say that if you have tried both, Photoshop is slightly better. It was not an opinion.
The appearance gives me more or less like that because as soon as I get to work it appears shortly.
I would say that both give you the same opportunities and are equally powerful, but The Gimp is more flexible in the amount of development they have.
Man, I would not say so...
GIMP is a great program but not to the level of photoshop when this is used "to limit"
90% of users over to the gimp (and even with Krita ) But there are very specific things in photoshop that is essential.
@ RedZot
Just out of out of curiosity, what are those things specific that you mean?
With just say, I think The Gimp is worth to spare.
