Enable ClearType fonts on the Welcome Screen

Microsoft clear type technology greatly increases clarity of text on laptop LCD screens. By default this feature does not start until after you log on. However, if you activate this option, it is not active on the welcome screen of Windows XP. To remedy this, a small modification of the registry is necessary.

• Click on "start", "Run ..." then type "regedit" and click on "OK"
  
  
• Go to the key: " HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop "
  
  
• On the right, change the string value named "FontSmoothing" and DWORD value named "FontSmoothingType" and set its value to "2"
  
  
• And Restart

Worked like a charm. No problems at all. An excelent, concise solution. After I turned on the ClearType it makes the appearance a little bit more decent .

Nice tutorial bro, i love ClearType fonts but sometimes feels they are little bit too fuzzy , but looking nice at welcome screen. Thanks mate
