    Save the fix position of icons on the desktop

    Hi,

    Is there any way to fix the positions of icon my desktop? i mean after refreshing they gets arrange by type and name i don't want that...i want to custom arrange then in my way? any way for that? using windows xp here.

    I found Iconoid 3.8.4 and it has an icon position save function that seems to work well so far. The x64 version is here:

    It's the only one I've seen so far that works for my system for some reason.

    Desktop icons layout/position is stored in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\1\Desktop Look for value ItemPos[YourScreenResolution](1) and export it. Say your desktop resolution is set at 11024x768, so the value name must be ItemPos1024x768(1) Good luck!
