Image Viewer problem in XP

Hi All
I have an issue in XP. When i open tiff or jpeg file in image viewr, it ask for file name & goes to print.
but those file work with FAX & viewer. I have reinstlled OS also but facing same issue. plz help me.

Is image viewr and FAX & viewer different?

The files might be getting opened with some printing application by default when you double click them.

Open any .tiff/.jpej image, right click on it, select 'open with' option and then choose the program from the list that you want and then click the check box below that 'Always use this program to open this file extension', something like this.

Are you currently trying to use the Windows XP image and Fax viewer to view your jpeg or tiff photo?

Or

Are you saying that each time you want to open any JPEG, TIFF photo this program launches automatically and give you the error message that it cannot find the picture you are trying to Open.

IF this is the case you can associated this file type JPEG and TIFF with that application.

You can do a file association in Windows Explorer to open Windows XP image and fax viewer each time you want to view
a jpeg or tiff photo.

Right Click on the Windows Start Button
Click Explore
Click Tools
Click Folder option
Click File Type Tab
A list of file types will be listed
Hightlight TIFF or JPEG on the list
Click the Open With: Change button
Select the application you wish to open your file type with

If you are looking to stop this program from opening any of your photos then associate the file type with another application that open photos.
