Rename the Trash

To rename the trash, open the Registry Editor (Start -> Run -> type regedit) and look for the keys:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\(645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E)\SHELLFOLDER

Modifying selected attributes and the value 40 01 00 20 70 01 00 20. Then give OK. Go back to the desktop and press F5, now the trash can renamed with the name you want.

Arrgh!! I know that the bits are recycled for use by other files, but windows changed trash to recycle bin!!! And we don't want to be windows... Maybe we could call it the Deletion Bin or the "Fire"... I dunno... I prefer non-Politically Correct names

Maybe if it could easily be renamed that would be best... then we could call it "Death Row for files" or whatever.

For Windows it is very easy to add rename option in the right click for Recycle Bin. See this Adding rename option to right click menu of the Recycle Bin
