Is there a program to cut the white part of a scanned picture? Because when scanned some portions are always white. I want it to keep only the picture, as if it were transferred from a digital camera.

I use PhotoShop for editing of photos. But you have programs that are lighter and simpler for this. Picasa can also do this.
Gimp, Paint.Net and any other program for editing or image processing.
ACDsee can also do what you want. You just need to crop the unwanted portions. In fact, if you have installed MS office, then Microsoft Office Picture Manager can also crop the images and you may not need any extra software.
