My Norton's firewall is causing lots of problem to my computer and first significant problem is I cannot use the internet. I have gone through all the settings but so far nothing changed. Other than this, firewall also blocking most of the apps in windows. There is no way that I can browser or update the Windows. How can I resolve this issue?

If you have configured the default settings in Norton Smart Firewall then I don’t think that it will cause any kind of problem. First of all make sure that Automatic Program Control is turned on. If you can get the Firewall reset option somewhere in the program, click on it and see whether it can help or not.

I think that you should change the firewall rules now in order to see the changes and allow the internet access. To add a Traffic rule, in the main window, click Settings> Detailed Settings> Firewall.
Choose the Traffic Rules tab and click Add. Now you need to go through all the instructions mentioned there. Make sure to unblock the certain port numbers which might have blocked.

I have been using the Norton 360 from the past several months and it is working fine. Make sure that you are doing the right thing there. I think that you haven’t enabled the notification for blocking the program in the firewall and due to this you cannot access apps. To change it
    • Firewall Protection Settings>General Settings tab, choose Alerts:
    • Make it as ON.
    • Hope it helps.

    To allow the internet access:
    • Open "Norton 360"
    • Go to"Settings" >"Firewall." There in firewall settings check the list of programs with the "Auto" drop-down selection. They are blocked by Norton 360 whenever needed.
    • Click a program you like Web browser to allow internet access and click "Remove and “Yes”.
    • Choose “Allow” option for whichever browser, you wanna need Internet access. That’s it.
