How to remove virus in pendrive?

I took my brother's pendrive in school for getting some assignment files but my computer lab sir told me that my pen drive has a virus. I have brought it home by now but i dont want my system to get affected by it. Is there anything i can do to get rid of of virus from the pendrive??

See if you are not having any crucial data in your pendrive and if you dont mind losing it than you can connect it to your system making sure that you are not opening it after it gets recognized. Once it gets recognized you can right click on it, click on format option, choose quick format and you are done. You will lose the data in it as well as the virus. Hope that helps.

Thanks for that but that doesn't seem to be a good idea, i cant tend to lose the file in it. Is there anything else that i can try out to get rid of the virus without losing any data?? I also wanted to add that my sir had told me to use antivirus for removing the virus. So i wanted to know which one will be best in that case?? Is there any free one??

Below ones are best free antiviruses, you can download and install free edition of anyone. Once installed you just have to right click on your usb drive without opening it and select scan option. If there are any virus or malware in your drive than they will get removed.
