Antec VP630F for GTX 770 graphics card

I have a pretty old computer with Antec VP630F Power Supply. One of my friend is going to sell his Nvidia GTX 770 video card, so I was wondering of purchasing it second hand. But I was in a doubt whether my current power supply would be able to handle the GTX 770 graphics card or not? I am also not looking to overclock the GPU since I dont have good coolers installed in my old pc. So, can anyone tell me whether the components will be supported or not?

After looking at the technical specifications of Geforce GTX 770 graphics card it seems that it requires 600W power supply. So, Antec VP630F power supply would be more than enough for the video card. Also, the Antec VP brand is a good quality psu so you do not have to worry that much. You can check the whole specifications of the GTX 770 power supply requirements from this link - http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desk...specifications

    Thermal and Power Specs:
    • 98 CMaximum GPU Temperature (in C)
    • 230 WGraphics Card Power (W)
    • 600 WMinimum Recommended System Power (W)
    • One 8-pin and one 6-pinSupplementary Power Connectors

You can even go for a good quality power supply of 550W that will be plenty for running your whole computer build. The GTX 770 graphics card draws only 230W power which is spread over the PCI-e slot with a 6 pin and 8 pin power connector. If the Antec VP630F has this power connectors then the load will be balanced between the 2 rails. But if this PSU doesnt have this connectors then it will not support the graphics card at all.

Well, if you are not looking to overclock your system then you can also buy the cheap Corsair CX600M power supply. This PSU remains very quiet once you boot your pc. You will hardly notice any fan noise in a normal room ambience. But while at load, it might get a bit louder. The best part of this psu is that it has long cable lengths to reach all the components in your chassis. It is the best budget psu that you can get.
