Antec VP 550W for GTX 760

I am going to buy a new GTX 760 2GB Overclocked Edition graphics card for playing games on high settings on my computer. Currently I have a 450W power supply. I have read that this graphics card requires atleas 550W power supply. So I am thinking to buy the Antec VP550W power supply. I want to know whether this PSU will be sufficient to run this video card or not? If not then what other PSU would you suggest me? Thanks

I think that the GTX 760 graphics card has a 30A and requires only 500W power supply minimum, so even a Cooler Master 500 power supply would be more than enough to run this video card from Nvidia. The PSU needs to just have 30amps on the 12v rail which usually depends on the model of the card. The Antec 550W would be more than enough but note that you wont be able to run a SLI configuration, that is; 2 graphics card setup on your computer with the same psu.

The Antec company is one of the best Power Supply makers for computers and the psu that you have listed is more than enough to run that single graphics card on any setup. In the future if you want to do a SLI then you will atleast need a 700 watt power supply from brands like Antec, Corsair, Seasonic or any other branded psu makers. You can consider going with the Antec VP 550W power supply without any doubt. Grab it from some deals on either Ebay or Amazon website.

There is also another model named Antec BP550 Plus 550W which you can go for the GTX 760 graphics card. I have been using this PSU for more than 2 and half years now and it is working great till now. It is not very loud either and powers my AMD Athlon X4 640 along with GTX 760 video card without any issues. You will also get enough space to add extra cables incase you want to get some extra PCI cable. The cost of this psu is also very cheap for about $60 only.
