AMD Radeon R9 290 with Antec 620W PSU

I am looking to buy a new Power Supply. I already have an Intel Core i7 processor, 4gb RAM, Asus motherboard. I am going to build a gaming setup so therefore I will also add a AMD Radeon R9 290 graphics card. So, can anyone tell me whether the Antec High Current Gamer HCG-620W Power supply will be good enough for my current setup and also provide enough power to the video card? Or else, should I have to buy some high end PSU. Thanks

The Antec High Current Gamer HCG-620W is a high quality power supply, so it should be enough to provide ample of power to your Amd Radeon R9 290 graphics card as well as other hardware components. This Antec psu also doesnt make very loud noise but more of a low sound. The best part is that it provides a good voltage, its mostly modular and has more than enough wattage for any computer build with a single graphics card. I will definitely suggest you to go with this psu.

Actually, the Antec High Current Gamer PSU series is nothing but a Seasonic OEM power supply built with the same quality. The video card Radeon R9 290 might use an absolute maximum of 330w, when you are doing a high end benchmarking test. The CPU that you are using will not use more than 200w bringing up a total of about 465w max total. The best that you can do is try to run your PSU at 80% max rated power which will support all the hardware's decently.

The Antec High Current Gamer HCG-620W is a very good power supply for the money. If you had a bugdet computer built then this PSU would have been a hugh overkill because it has too much of power. You must know that budget build really dont require anything more than 400W at most but since you are already having a mediocre gaming build with a single high end graphics card then this psu will be sufficient to give enough power to the components. But if you are willing to buy 2 video cards of the same group then you should consider spending for a more powerful PSU.
