False Alert - AD database restored by unsupported procedure.

We are running DCs that are running on virtual machines. Some days back, I checked there is a 2103 error in the system log of one DC that states "The Active Directory database has been restored using an unsupported restoration procedure" and the Net Logon service pauses every time the DC is restarted. There was no AD restore at any time since the server was built. I have moved the DC virtual guest from one to another virtual host, which is what I am thinking might be the reason for this problem. Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue? Thanks

Can you try to run diadnostics against your Active Directory domain. Incase you dont have the support tools installed, then you can install those from your server install CD - d:\support\tools\setup.exe. After that, try to run dcdiag, netdiag and repadmin in verbose mode:
    • DCDIAG /V /C /D /E /s:yourdcname > c:\dcdiag.log
    • netdiag.exe /v > c:\netdiag.log (On each dc)
    • repadmin.exe /showrepl dc* /verbose /all /intersite > c:\repl.txt

    Fellas,

I have a very similar situation to this one.

Was there an outcome to this?
