    Security Group Permission Management

I'm requesting if any of you AD / MS Windows Server gurus would happen to know how to help with the following:

Is there a way of listing what folders/files a security group controls access to.
    Example:
    Security group name: Home_media
    Security group name: Home_media_TV_RW
    Security group name: Home_media_TV_R

    Folders:
    \Media\Music
    \Media\Movie
    \Media\TV

So Home_media would give Modify control over the folder 'media' and its subfolders

Where as Home_media_TV_RW would only be able to give Read&Write access to the TV folder (and any subfolders it may have). And Home_media_TV_R only Read access in the TV folder.

As what I am attempting to do is build a reference database to what security groups control access to what folders where and what type of access. The only way I can think of at the moment is to Manually go to each folder open its properties then see groups are listed for that folder and with the large size of this domain this would take months of full time work to do.

I'm not concerned much about what exact permissions the group grants or denies, I'm mainly after getting a list of what the group affects which folders on shared network drives.

Managing users of SharePoint sites is easier if you assign permission levels to groups rather than to individual users. SharePoint group is a set of individual users and can also include Active Directory groups. More information on same can be found out from here - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc261972.aspx
