Workstations hang on running startup script due to GPO

We have done a setp of Mandatory user to lock down some kiosk computers. We recently had a trojan virus infection. After cleaning the virus, the computer started freezing on running startup scripts for 10 minutes till it times out and then the computer starts booting up. After that we get the below error in event viewer:

    Event Type: Warning
    Event Source: Winlogon
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1217
    Date: 6/10/2009
    Time: 12:44:17 PM
    User: N/A
    Computer: KIOSK03
Description: Execution of GPO scripts has timed out and have been terminated.

    Can anyone please help.

You can download and use the User Profile Hive Cleanup Service from this link - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=6676. The User Profile Hive Cleanup service helps to ensure user sessions are completely terminated when a user logs off. System processes and applications occasionally maintain connections to registry keys in the user profile after a user logs off.

Did you make sure whether the machines are in a DMZ? Also, have you made sure if ICMP is not blocking between it and the DC? If it is blocking then check out the below article on how a slow link is detected for processing user profiles and Group Policy:
