how to manually delete dfs target

I just demoted the DC which we are using to a member server and then renamed it. This server hs DFS Target and I deleted the Target from DFS manager, although it was still showing the previous host name. The issue is that I am not able to delete the actual shared folder from this server that has too much of software. The error message that we are getting is "the share must be removed from the Distributed File System before it can be deleted." Can anyone please help me out? Thanks.

Before trying the below steps, always backup first of all. After that check out for :

    dfscmd /unmap \\DFSName\DFSShareName\Path

    dfsutil/clean/server:hostServer/share:rootname

You can even try to do dfsutil /remftroot /server:data /share:share
