    login and logoff timestamps

I was asked to give login and logoff times for some users within an OU for the month of July. Can anyone tell me whether this is possible to do and how easy is it to get the information. Is it just a case of going through the audit logs to find out the times or is there a quicker way to get the information that I want. Thanks.

I dont think you will find a history of that in AD. You need to use the event log's for the past, if logging was enabled for autidint of account and account logon events. You can also try to use the script from joeware website which will help you out.

Incase you want to track logins, then you can try LimitLogin that will keep an audit of all logins within a SQL database and above that it also comes for free.

We use netwrix logon reporter for this—it tells you exactly when someone logs on and off and they offer it in a freeware
