unable to install Realtek High Definition Audio drivers 5423

I cannot install Realtek High Definition Audio drivers. Even when I try to install from CD that cam with the mptherboard or downloaded files from the website, the installation fails. Nowmally the installshield starts and then halts and then tells me that the Realtek High Definition Audio drive installation has failed and then it will close. I have already tried to uninstall the audio drivers from the device manager but it says that I do not have any audio drivers installed. I am on a Intel Desktop Board D945GCNL, can anyone please help me out. Thanks.

Have you tried to download and install the KB888111 patch before installing the audio drivers? Version 1.0a of the Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver for Microsoft Windows has been released. This release supports the High Definition Audio and Modem implementations that are known to Microsoft. Download it from here - http://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/...111&kbln=en-us

Thanks for the reply, I have tried to install the KB888111 patch but still I cannot install the realtek drivers. Another problem is that if I go to my computer and then right click on device manager and then right click on 'Legacy Audio Drivers' to uninstall the driver, then I wont get any option to uninstall or either to update any audio drivers? Is there any other suggestions?
