MS Installer Cleanup utility

I'm trying to uninstall some software (Palm Desktop), which gave an msi
error and failed to install. Palm's advice to me was to install the
Windows Installer CleanUp Utility and use this to erase leftover
registry entries from a previously deleted version of their software. I
obtained the CleanUp Utility from the MS site and tried to run it. My
problem is that this utility fails to install or run and gives an error
message:

Error: "ActiveX component cant create object: 'scripting.fileSystemObject"
Code: 800A01AD
Source: Microsoft VBscript runtime error

Any ideas apreciated

Check the answers to your question in microsoft.public.windowsxp.general.
They would also have shown up here had you cross-posted.

regedit,expand-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software,locate thier software,R.click,delete,close out
& open:HKEY_LOCAL_USER/software,do the same, close out regedit when thru.
Go to run,type:%Temp% Go to edit,select all,delete all,close out,empty
