Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 not charging.

I have 3 Micorosoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000's - all of which worked
perfectly but now do the following :-

First, I need to jiggle them around the charging pad to get them to register
at all. Then they either :-
Start to charge normally - a slow green pulse - this lasts for about 30
seconds before the mouse falls back to the 2nd behavior :-
Start to blink red rapidly.

They do not appear to get much charge from this process. They go flat within
an hour or two of use.

I have 3 mice - all less then 3 months old doing this. I got 3 and replaced
all my wired mice because the first one I got started out working so well.

WTF is wrong with them?

Perhaps you could try charging the NiMH battery, in a separate charger.
Then see what kind of run time you get from a fully charged battery.

Charging circuits, vary in sophistication. For example, a charger I have
here, doesn't detect when the battery is full. Instead, it uses a timed
application of charging current. Which is not a very good method. But
it does allow the charger to be cheaply produced, and also may avoid
any patents that apply to more complicated charging methods.

If you like toys, there are recharger companies that provide more feedback
about the charging process. This one has a display.

What does this have to do with the OS? NOTHNG. This is a purely
physical problem.
