    getting 1440 x 900 native resolution

I have a computer that is connected to a LG 194WT widescreen LCD that has a native resolution of 1440 x 900 and the highest that I can get is 1280 x 720 with Intel 740 Compatible graphics adapter. So, I was wondering, if I updated the driver for this graphics then will i get the native resolution? This is the same problem on my brother's pc that has Intel Graphics Controller 82865G integrated but it will not affect him as he is using a CRT monitor? Thanks for any help.

Incase it is very much compatible and the newer driver supports it then yeah it will definitely support it, since the real Intel 740 will be able to go up to 1600 x 1200. You can try to go to the manufacturer's website and then download and install the new driver for the graphics adapter that you have with you.

Well, you should first download and install the drivers and then you will get to know whether that will work or not, that is the only way to know I guess, in the end.

Even I have got a widescreen monitor and I also needed 1440 x 900 resolution. Even though Windows is able to install the Video Controller with any problem and though it is working, but to get all he possible resolution choices you need to go to the Intel Website and then get their drivers.

Also you can try to go to the display properties and then click on settings and then advanced and then adaptor. After that list all the modes possible and then hopefully you will get the setting for 1440 x 900. If it is not present then you will need to install an AGP video card that can support that resolution.
