Error 80004005: Cannot create video capture filter

I more often use Skype for contacting my clients. Now as we required to do Video callings, I bought a new USB Webcam. But when I connect the same with this XP computer, it wont recognizes it. I even downloaded and installed drivers from my webcam manufacturers website but no help.

I thought if webcam’s software could help, so tried installing the same but it says “Error 80004005: Cannot create video capture filter.” I don’t know why is it happening. There is no fault in the camera, it is brand new, also have installed correct drivers but still. Any idea what is wrong? Please help.

First of all you haven’t mentioned the name/model of your webcam even once in your post? Can you provide its link so that we can see if the cam has some compatibility problem with your XP computer. Also mentioned which XP edition are you using and which Service Pack, if any.

Did you try connecting the camera in some other USB ports, especially behind? If yes and still it is not recognisezed than let it be connected and open Device manager. See if there is any error regarding the same.

Oh sorry for the same. It is Trust WB-1200p Mini Webcam, you can get more info about the same here http://www.trust.com/products/defaul...NG&grp=WEBCAMS. And my system is XP with SP1. I tried connecting camera with various ports but it is not recognized in any of them various other usb devces such as printer, external harddisk, Digital camera, etc are working fine in the same port.

    Any help?

Well I too checked that URL and nothing seems to be compatibility problem with the cam and XP. The only thing you need to consider is you have installed correct drivers for the webcam. Or better contact the camera manufacturer.
