Are you able to get anything to work with your USB ports or is it just the keyboards that don't work? Are you using the USB ports on your PC or are you going through a USB hub? If you are try using a powered USB hub; you might try a powered hub anyway. One last thing you might try is removing the USB keyboard drivers in safe mode and reboot to see if the keyboard is detected and then try using the keyboard before you install any of the custom keyboard software. I have this same keyboard, but I don't use any of the special functions so I never installed the intellikey software and I have never had any problems with it. Other than that, you might have messed up your operating system some how and you might need to reinstall it though I doubt that is the case. You might also try a PCI USB card just to be sure there is not something wrong with your motherboard's USB ports. |

| Re: Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 doesn't work
Just wanna share this... In this new day and age the daily use of a computer is extremely frequent. There are also countless jobs that involve sitting at or near a computer all day and require its continual use. Right out of the box the standard desktop/laptop keyboards feel great, but continuous use of them is certain to cause discomfort and sometimes more serious problems. Repetitive stress injury can be caused by such extended use of regular keyboards and thankfully ergonomic keyboards are a saving grace, in that they reduce the strain placed on your wrists and can help prevent injuries. |

| Re: Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 doesn't work
When my computer (XP o/s) did not recognize my new 4000, I did this: Right click on My Computer icon on desktop. Properties/hardware/device manager/left click on universal serial bus controllers. Update the drivers for each controller or device in the list. Then: On bottom left of desktop: Start/Run/Services.msc I found some services that were not turned on. When I selectively enabled them and rebooted, my k/b worked fine. I HATE HATE HATE Vista (on my Toshiba laptop) so was very pleased to be able to use the 4000 on this old (IDE) desktop PC. Good luck. |
