| Drive 1 not found; Serial ATA, SATA-2 Strike f1 to continue F2 for
Thank you for reviewing this post. I have recently replaced the power supply and mobo on a Dell E310 that was warrantied from Dell (Parts came from them). No problems so far. I ran the install disk and reinstalled Windows XP. Again, so far, so good. I did not reformat, I just reinstalled and have two Windows versions from which to choose when I boot up. It defaults to the one I want. (I chose "Leave the current file systme intact") Everything else works fine now ... except one little thing ... I get this error each time I boot up the machine. I hit F1 and all works wonderfully. But I would prefer NOT to get this error! :) I checked in F2, Setup, and turned off SATA1 and then SATA 2 (different times) to see if that helped. Nope. I turned off the two IDE drives listed in setup (Boot order area) (There is only ONE drive in this machine, none are IDE) That made no difference. I moved the SATA connector from one plug to another on the mobo, still no difference. This just HAS to be something simple that I am overlooking. Would anyone PLEASE tell me what I need to do to make this go away?? Do you think it something to do with having the 2 Windows on here, and if so, how to I remove the one I do not want? If that is not it, what am I missing??!! THANK YOU!!! Don in Tucson AizA |

I had this problem after installing a CD drive to my Dell Optiplex GX620. The hard drive was Drive 0. My son came up with a solution: just swapping the CD to the Drive 0 connection and the hard drive to the Drive 1. All now hunky dory. Last edited by Peterc47 : 22-12-2008 at 02:36 AM.
