Could be anything, power supply, motherboard, video card. If it makes no beeps, it's more likely power supply or MB. Call a local computer repair shop for a diagnosis and repair estimate. I did it too. I have tried it with another Monitor too. It doesn't work out. My computer which was working good for many years have broken down. It shows nothing in the screen except "THE SIGNAL CABLE DISCONNECT" when i turn it on. It doesn't produce any sound. I have replaced the RAM in another slot, It did not work out too. What shall I do? you know i have gone to many repairing centers but the problem is my village, there are only a very few repairing centers and they are not experts at computer repairing. I have tried this in a different news group too but they did not give me a proper reply. i have replaced the VGA also but It remains the same My computer doesn't turn on, then how can I change the time of the computer. I shows only a massage "THE SIGNAL CABLE DISCONNECT" |

Maybe you should try reconnecting the cable that goes from the computer to the monitor... Since your so remote, try replacing the video cable, as the message says it's not receiving a video signal, or it could be something on the motherboard that generates the video signal, and it's broke. sorry not much help, better plan on getting a new pc. |

Your problem is that your computer isn't keeping the correct time and date and if you can correct this fault, I am sure your computer will start operating properly. For example the date and time on your message is "Date: Thu, 02 Sep 2010 08:01:14 +0530" Now this can only be somewhere outside the global Satellite Orbit where time runs faster than on earth! How did you post this message if you can't turn on your computer? I think you should throw away your computer and buy a new one because clearly it appears to be damaged beyond cost-effectively repaired! Computers are very cheap these days though Microsoft Software will cost you an arm and a leg! unless you correct your system date we shall not reply again so you are on your own! |

| Re: Unable to get the display in the monitor
"Unless you correct your system date we shall not reply again" - who's this "we" you want to speak so authoritatively on behalf of? And as for "Your problem is that your computer isn't keeping the correct time and date and if you can correct this fault, I am sure your computer will start operating properly", that would be baloney even if he WERE posting these messages from it, which he clearly isn't. |

| Re: Unable to get the display in the monitor
Can you check below things just to get confirmed what exactly the issue 1 - Just switch on the machine with all the peripherals attached I mean with Memory, and monitor plugged in to CPU and another in to power. (Notice if its displaying anything on monitor or not, if yes please write back) 2 - unplug the data cable of monitor and switch on the monitor (Notice what the output is, is it "No signal") |
