NTLDR missing...

My computer was working fine. I flashed the bios and now
I have to push F8 and select first master in order to boot
up my computer.

F8 no longer gives me the choices of safe mode...etc. It
now lists the devices in my computer and I select 1st
master to boot up.

My MB is an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe. I can live with things
the way they are, but if I could get it to boot as it did
before I flashed I'd like that even better.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you,
Geo.

First go into your bios and go to boot order

normally you'd have cdrom first
your HD second

make sure any other devices are listed

*after* your HD (or disable them)

save and exit

to get to safe mode
you need to press F8 *after* the bios messges
but just prior to the OS loading

Re: NTLDR missing...

What does Bios Setup > Boot menu > Boot Device Priority screen show?
and
What does Bios Setup > Boot menu > Hard Disk Drives screen show?

What do I do once I am in safe mode? I pushed F8 just
prior to OS loading. I saw the usual long list of drivers
being installed, but it stopped at mup.dll. Never did
boot all the way up.

I'd boot with your CD and from the recovery console

run chkdsk /r

if that does not fix the problem

go back to the recovery console and try fixboot
