error msg. - The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort1 did not respond within the timeout period

This is two years old XP computer which was running fine so far but suddenly don’t know what went wrong, since couple of days my system freezes automatically anytime for about 2 to 3 minutes and I get following error message:

“The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort1 did not respond within the timeout period”

I don’t know what is it related. I haven’t made any changes from end since a month on this system. Can anyone please tell me how can identify this device. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Even I don’t know what kind of error this is but as far as identifying is concerned, you can try out HD Tune that will provide you the source of the problem. But it cannot fix it. Atleast you will come to know what is causing the problem, right? You can download it from here
