| Change hard drive letter
I just installed a new SATA drive after my old drive crashed. I've gotten XP to load again and all most peripherals working. The problem is that now my new boot drive is designated as "F". There is no "C". I could live with this but by default I'm finding most programs are looking for the C drive for installation. Does anyone know how I can change this to C? I'm thinking I'll need to reformat, etc. but I'm not sure even if I do that it'll change this to C. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks. |

You need to disconnect any memory card readers/external drives, etc, format and reinstall XP. -- ---- Crosspost, do not multipost http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 Help Us Help You http://dts-l.net/goodpost.htm "Sam" <Sam@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:778BAB9A-5E66-490E-868A-E92115446415@microsoft.com... >I just installed a new SATA drive after my old drive crashed.
