You can save this and open it in Wordpad later. This is an
unofficial list, compiled by volunteers. The official list
is kept secret as far as I know.

http://pciids.sourceforge.net/pci.ids

168c Atheros Communications Inc.
0013 Atheros AR5001X+ Wireless Network Adapter
(AR5212/AR5213 Multiprotocol MAC/baseband processor)

Which would suggest it is a wireless adapter that you've listed.

If you have an Ethernet port physical connector on the machine,
then take another look in your VEN/DEVs to find it. In some cases,
the Ethernet port can be part of the chipset, so the MAC will be
by the same company as the main chipset. That is cheaper than
using yet another chip external to the chipset, for Ethernet
wired usage.

Re: Ethernet controller question

Why not just visit HP's support site and see which drivers they have
available for that model?
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...vOID=228#11395

Looks to be either an Intel or Broadcom wireless card.
