This is an unofficial list, compiled by volunteers. The official list is kept secret as far as I know. http://pciids.sourceforge.net/pci.ids 168c Atheros Communications Inc. 0013 Atheros AR5001X+ Wireless Network Adapter (AR5212/AR5213 Multiprotocol MAC/baseband processor) Which would suggest it is a wireless adapter that you've listed. If you have an Ethernet port physical connector on the machine, then take another look in your VEN/DEVs to find it. In some cases, the Ethernet port can be part of the chipset, so the MAC will be by the same company as the main chipset. That is cheaper than using yet another chip external to the chipset, for Ethernet wired usage. Paul |

Why not just visit HP's support site and see which drivers they have available for that model? http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...vOID=228#11395 Looks to be either an Intel or Broadcom wireless card. -- ---- Crosspost, do not multipost http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 Help Us Help You http://dts-l.net/goodpost.htm "eny" <eny@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3711B927-9338-4937-B3A9-2517F44C3110@microsoft.com... >I have a hp compaq nx9010 laptop with a ethernet controller that I need to > identify; the details are Device Instande Id, > PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0013&SUBSYS_CB2114B9&REV_01\4&22BB770D&0&0050, any help? > Thanks |
