How To Stop Smart Failure Detection ?

I am getting a constant error message on my system. It appears only when the system boots up and once it is booted properly things went fine. But now the Smart Failure Protected on Hard Drive error keep on appearing. I am using Toshiba MK8009GAH drive. When I press F1 the system works properly. I want to know that does this is a error for worry or I can ignore the same. I need some help to find the information on the same. how to disable the same and fin a proper solution on it.

This is a drive failure error. There are some hard drive diagnostic software that can tell you the current status of your system drive. Also from the bios you can disable SMART feature. This SMART feature tells you about the hard drive status. You can disable that if needed. But run some diagnostic tool to find whether the drive is going to die soon.

I had got the same error and after few days my drive died. My friend told me to took daily backup because this error can cause hardware failure. Fortunately I am having all data safe. Many times the drive works for long time but a number of time it is just a waste of time.
