| Explorer.exe doesn't start at boot
Windows explorer doesn't start when I boot up. I don't get an error message, it just hangs. I have to open task manager and start it manually. Is there a fix for this? |

I found the problem, I had a major malware infestation and Nod32 didn't detect it. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware fixed everything. So much for Nod32, its uninstalled and deleted "Michael" <reply@spam.com> wrote in message news:O2CAbRu3IHA.1436@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Windows explorer doesn't start when I boot up. Don't forget NOD32 is an Anti-virus program not Anti-malware? You will need both Anti-virus and Anti-malware to run and protect your computer! You shoot yourself in the foot by blaming NOD32 all the way |

I sent an email to Nod32 (before uninstalling) and they said I had a trojan they weren't aware of. What kind of answer is that? Based on his answer the trojan was something Nod32 was suppose to detect but failed. |

New viruses, worms, trojans, etc. come out every day and before your anti-virus software can protect you against those new ones, some people have to get infected with them. They can't anticipate new threats, but have to react to the threats as they are released. And they are always playing catch-up. A good anti-virus program is one that reacts to new threats quickly, but none is so quick that it can react to a new threat before some people get infected with it. For *every* anti-virus program, there are *always* new threats that they are not yet aware of. That's the main reason why safe computing habits are important in *addition* to using protection software. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |
