Network Printer Won't Print from one Machine

I have a peer to peer network with two computers, two printers attached to
    one of the computers.

From the computer with the printers, everything works fine. From the other
computer using the network printers, one printer works fine, the other does
    not.

The confusing part is I can access the printer properties page and print a
test page and it works fine. I just can't print anytype of document.

Other than this, the network is normal and functional. I have renamed
WorkGroup, Removed and reinstalled printers repeatedly. The problem persists.

Both machines running XP Pro-SP3. The problem printer is a Samsung ML-4500.
The setup was working fine and then just died. I've checked the printer
spools and there aren't any files in them.

Any ideas on where to look

    Thanks

check the system eventlog on the machine sharing the printers for any print
    errors or warnings.

Re: Network Printer Won't Print from one Machine

    Found this when troubleshooting:

The document Mallory owned by Paul failed to print on printer ML-4500Laser.
Data type: NT EMF 1.008. Size of the spool file in bytes: 902048. Number of
bytes printed: 0. Total number of pages in the document: 1. Number of pages
printed: 0. Client machine: \\192.168.1.101. Win32 error code returned by the
    print processor: 122 (0x7a).

Did a quick search for the error code but didn't find anything except a
shareware program offering to fix registry corruption.

    Ideas or suggestions?

    thanks

Re: Network Printer Won't Print from one Machine

this might be something with the network

    E:\>winerror 122
    122 ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER <--> 0xc0000023 STATUS_BUFFER_TOO_SMALL

Try changing the print processor to winprint (printer properties, Advanced)
first to see if changing something in the spooler will get you going.

    Then disable antivirus software.

Re: Network Printer Won't Print from one Machine

    Alan,
Thanks for your help but not there yet.

I opened the advanced properties and it was already using WinPrint (Raw) for
the device. Changed to a different datta type (Raw-FF Auto) but that hasn't
made a difference. The only options for print processor were WinPrint,
    OneNotePrint and Canon Pixma.

The funny thing about this is it worked fine for the last 4 yrs (maybe it's
time for a new printer) and my Canon printer works fine. Gotta be something
in the network Spool but I sure can't find it.

Any other Ideas.. I sure hope it isn't a complete reinstall. Tried using SFC
/scannow but that hasn't made a difference either.

    ? ? ?

Re: Network Printer Won't Print from one Machine

I have no idea what is included with SP3 for XP BUT, did the printer work
    after installing SP3?

be sure to change the datatype back to raw.

    Change the printer /Properties/ Advanced
Start printing after the last page is spooled

setting, maybe something is not making it over the wire.
