Wide screen display resolution options

I am using an Compaq Evo N1020v and a new widescreen TV/Monitor. The only resolution options available are standard screen size. Can anyone tell me how to activate widescreen resolutions? Thanks

You can try to download and install Microsoft Exhibitor Pro, it is a software specifically for 2 or more monitors or laptop monitor. You can get the same from microsoft website.

Thanks for the suggestions but it seems to be a Windows Media Plugin for trade show type application. I want some output of my laptops VGA port to support widescreen display.

I think that the graphics card in the notebook will be able to support that much of higher resolutions. You can try to get the latest drivers for it and test it.
