Can't sign into MSN Messenger Error

I cannot sign into MSN messenger and am getting 2 error messages that are 80072745 and 81000314, which are coming up at different time of trying to sign into it. I have done the test and it will pass it but will not sign in. I have researched for some answer but cannot find any. Can anyone tell me its solution please?

You need to add the below addresses to the following file that must be opend with notepad and MSN will start to work:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts - This file is located once you open ETC folder and then open the Hosts file using notepad. After that put the below addresses:

65.54.239.80 messenger.hotmail.com
65.54.239.80 dp.msnmessenger.skadns.net

hi who ever i may be talking to i cant save the files rapheal told me to put into i typed in the adress to note pad it came up i lined up the addresses but the file wont save can anyone help me. im also getting the problem on signing in

Did you try to check if the computer clock date and time are correct. Also check the username and password are correct. If that doesnt work, then reinstall msn messenger to the latest version.
