XP Home cleanup: delete uninstall directories after installing SP3 ?

I am using Windows XP system for last few years. The pc was working fine and it was upto date. I regularly install patches and updates whenever released. I want to update SP3 now. But I want ensure that there will be no errors after that. I had seen my system performance is getting lower day bda and there are ample of hidden directories in my pc. Some folders occupies more than 2GB of space. This folder consist of log files and updates. Does deleting them will be safer.

Instead of removing all updates one by one or getting rid of additional installed software in your pc it is recommended that you must clean format your system. Install XP back from scratch and then perform all the updates. Then upgrade to SP3 and check back. I am sure that will be surely more than enough to get good performance and you can get better system also.
