| Can't log in thru admin screen
I have WIndows XP SP3. I have an admin screen set up, one for guests and one for me which is password protected. As soon as I log into my account with my password or try to use the guiest account, Windows starts to load, I can see the wallpaper, then logs me out (logging off message). I can not get into my computer to access the programs. I;ve booted in safe mode but safe mode has the admin page too and does the same thing. Any ideas short for F-disk? :-) Sue |

| Access violation warning
All day today my computer has been displaying this warning box intermittently. It read: Access violation at address 3010DBDA in module 'Flash9f.ocx'. Read of address 00000034. What does that mean and how can I solve the problem. Apart from the warning box, my notebook works fine. System - Windows XP Pro Media Centre Edition. Philocophus |

Mark, As I mentined I tried Safe mode, ALL categories. When in Safe mode Command Prompt I'm asked to "Please select the operating system to start:". The only option is Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. When I select that it takes me to the Admin login in screen and my troubles start all over again. I can't log in as I'm immediately logged out. It does load my 'preferences' then immediately logs me out. It doesn't matter if I'm in safe mode or normal mode. I even tried to load from the "D: drive with the "Application and Driver Recovery DVD". I also tried to reload XP from the D drive but can't get past the admin login page. Sue "Mark L. | Re: Can't log in thru admin screen
You may (since it takes the password) be able to get to the Recovery Console prompt from a boot to the setup CD (press 'r' for repair at the first screen). If so, run the command: LOGON If no help, you may be able to re-expand the file winlogon.exe from the setup CD. Something like: D:/i386/expand.exe D:/i386/winlogon.ex_ %windir%/system32/winlogon.exe -- Was this helpful? Then click the Ratings button. The last 2 sentences in my last communication went something like this: >I even tried to load from the "D: drive with the "Application and > Driver Recovery DVD". I also tried to reload XP from the D drive but can't > get past the admin login page. Is this what you are suggesting? If so, I've tried to boot from both the XP disk and the recovery disk. I changed the boot sequence in the BIOS to boot first from the D drive. It still takes me to the admin page first and I can't get past that. This is a tough one for sure! Sue "Mark L. You can try downloading a BartPE disk to boot to. This might let you do a repair of winlogon.exe. (BartPE) bootable live windows CD-DVD: http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ -- Was this helpful?
