    Error message 0X0000007B, 0XF8AA2524, 0X00000034, 0X00000000,0X00000000 (Dell)

Need some urgent help fixing hard drive problems with Dell 8400 running with Windows XP. Its actually my friends computer. The problem is this system is not recognizing the hard drive anymore and gives error saying

“Drive 1 not found: Serial ATA, SATA-1 Intel (r) Application
    Accelerator Raid Option ROM V41006211”

I tried to fix the same from BIOS but when I entered the BIOS I saw it is completely different from the BIOS we have in or computers, normally blue color. Hope you guys know how Dell BIOS use to be. Am not able to understand the options in this type of BIOS and don’t know how to change my hard drive settings. Please help.

Yes I know Dell’s BIOS is completely different from ones we see in our other branded systems. Anyways what I can suggest you here is to download the BIOS and other Manuals from Dell Support. You will come to know what you need to do. Other than this you should also try running diagnostics on the hard drive

I am unable to understand one thing. Was this drive working fine before ? I guess yes, and if it is than why are you going to change settings in BIOS. Someone have had did some R&D Or have made some hard drive changes hence the problem started. Or your hard drive is getting bad now. How old is it ? there must be some bad sectors causing this problem. Anyway download manual given above and if still you wont get it solved, go and get checked your hard drive.

According to the error message you mentioned in the title “0X7B”, it indicates that the fault is your hard drive and there is nothing to do in the BIOS. Surely your HDD is having some bad sectors or getting failed. Usually the error 0x7B on web refers that in such scenario PC turns on until splash screen and suddenly shows up with BSOD and quite. So, the only options you have is to run Dell Diagnostic tools on the drive or if it is in warranty get it replaced.

Hi Sijo. Me too faced this kinda problem several times. I got error message like this.
Drive 1 not found Serial ATA SATA 1
Drive 2 not found Serial ATA SATA 2
Drive 3 not found Serial ATA SATA 3
I have OptiPlex GX620 in my Windows XP. While I was starting my computer, I saw these messages above and it asked me to choose whether I would go for Safe mode, Safe mode with network, Last known good configuration or Start windows normally. I have tried each of them one at a time but nothing works.

    This worked for me.
