Might be some kind of ram issue. Just open your cpu case and remove the ram. Clean the edges with rubber and insert it back. Ample of time due to dust or carbon particles the ram is not able to work properly. If still you get blue screen error then you can use tools like memtest to scan the memory for errors. It comes in bootable disc form. If it shows you error then you have to replace the ram. You will need to buy a new one. RAM errors are the most common cause of bluescreens.

Try to boot in safe mode first. Then go in Event Viewer and check for the error details there. The Event Viewer keeps a track of all kind of error with description. It also shows you the associated file which is causing the problem. You can simply post the report here. Sometime bluescreen also appear due to corrupt registry files. In that case running system restore is the only easy option left. If after running system restore your system works fine then you can conclude that it is not a hardware failure.

Yes better check in the event viewer what you get. System restore is just an kind of temporary issue. But if it is a hardware problem then still you will get bluescreen errors. In safe mode launch msconfig. And from the startup disable all UN-necessary services. That will be better to gain some stability. Or else it will be complicated for you to get proper solution. I had got the same kind of problem due to a buggy driver. That it was resolved automatically.

I am sure this is some kind of ram problem. Just change the slot and test back. With the error that you had posted it is not easy to find the cause. You have to provide more information on your problem. Like any recently installed application, any recent virus problem, etc. Sometime windows updates are also caused of such failure. Just go in add/remove and uninstall some recently installed applications from your system.
